Dental implants are perfect for patients who struggle with dentures or are self-conscious about their smile. Implants provide a safe and healthy way of replacing missing or failing teeth and can also be used to hold loose dentures firmly in place.

HQ is the UK’s largest combined practice and laboratory. A place where you meet the whole dental team. Our clinicians and technicians work together closely ensuring the best results, everytime.

What are dental implants?

Dental implants provide a safe and healthy way of replacing missing or failing teeth and can also be used to hold loose dentures firmly in place.

Titanium dental implants have a thread and are initially screwed into the bone, which then grows into the pitted metal surface of the implant, providing an incredibly strong biological connection.

The procedure is officially pain free and can take as little as one hour.

At HQ Dental we provide a full range of dental implant solutions, ranging from single tooth replacement to advanced treatments like ‘full arch implants‘ and zygomatic implants that cannot be performed without an on-site laboratory.

At HQ Dental we provide industry-leading single tooth dental implant surgery for an individual missing tooth. We typically adopt a five-step process which takes around 12 weeks to complete.
At the end of the treatment period you will have a titanium implant which is fused to your jaw bone, making it incredibly strong. Read more about single tooth implants here.

All on 4 Full Arch Implant Retained Bridges

Now recognised as one of the greatest recent advances in dental medicine, Full arch implants/All on 4 offers patients a safe and immediate way of replacing all their failing or missing teeth with a complete set of natural-looking fixed permanent teeth.
At roughly half the price of conventional treatment, All on 4 is also highly cost-effective.

Zygomatic Implants

Zygomatic implants are very advanced implants that can be placed in the upper jaw when there is simply not enough bone for conventional dental implants.
This often happens as the bone in both your upper and lower jaw will start to shrink (or resorb) as soon as natural teeth are lost.
Zygomatic implants are extra-long dental implants that connect with the cheekbone or underneath the eye socket, allowing patients even with severe bone loss to benefit from fixed new teeth.

Implants retained dentures

Implants for denture wearers can be truly life-changing. Denture wearers usually find that their dentures (especially lower dentures) can be loose and unstable, making biting and chewing and sometimes even speaking a real problem.
This can affect their diet, which can have serious health implications.
Dental implants can be used to very successfully connect with, and hold, dentures firmly in place completely restoring function and allowing the denture wearer to eat normally again.
The dentures can still be removed for cleaning but then can be firmly ‘clipped’ back onto the dental implants.

Guided Implants

In cases which require complex dental implant placement we use CAD/CAM technology to 3D print our own implant guides. Guided implant placement is a more accurate and quicker way of putting dental implants into the bone.
This makes healing time quicker and allows for much better patient experience. Read more about guided implants.

Nervous patients are especially welcome at HQ Dental

We are friendly, caring and understanding and most patients feel at ease as soon as they arrive. Many comment that coming to HQ isn’t like coming to a ‘normal’ dentist. We understand that some patients can be especially nervous when coming for dental implant placement, often because of a bad experience in the past, and we always do whatever we can to put you at ease.

We want your dental treatment experience with us to be as pleasant as possible. Intravenous sedation is available if required for implant surgery.

Special equipment at HQ Dental

CAT scanner-equipped

Our state-of-the-art cone beam CAT scanner is an amazing piece of equipment that provides a three-dimensional scan and clearly shows us the position and density of your bone. This allows us to ‘virtually’ plan your dental implant treatment. The software also allows us to produce implant guides, which means that we can provide guided implant dental placement which is more accurate and much quicker and makes for less time in the chair and a more pleasant experience.

PRF-equipped

Our PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) machine separates blood platelets from plasma, which can then be used to ‘plug’ wounds. We sometimes use this machine for large or complex cases and it helps to prevent blood loss and speeds up the healing process. PRF can also make dental implant treatment possible for some patients with rare or detrimental blood disorders.

    Frequently asked questions

Dental implants are an ideal solution for patients who want to replace missing teeth due to gum disease or injury. They offer a permanent, comfortable and more natural-looking alternative to traditional dentures.

    Comfortable and secure
Dental implants become a part of you, just like natural teeth. While dentures are removable.

    Eat with confidence
Dentures can slip and move, causing discomfort when you eat. Many denture wearers avoid chewy or hard foods that may cause movement or damage to the denture, which can seriously impact their confidence, especially when eating in public. With dental implants, you can eat, smile and talk with confidence.

    Get your self-esteem back
Missing teeth and wearing dentures can have a lasting impact on your self-esteem.  Everyone deserves to smile at ease and without a second thought.

Dental implants can last a lifetime with proper care. They are a permanent fix to replace missing teeth.

Dental implants are the nearest tooth replacement to your own natural teeth. They provide an excellent solution if you have missing teeth, are about to lose some of your teeth or if you suffer with loose dentures.
With dental implants there’s no need to compromise – you’re replacing missing teeth with new permanent teeth.

Treat your dental implants like your normal teeth and maintain good oral health by brushing, flossing around the implant and keeping up to regular dental check ups.

Pricing varies depending on the number and type of implant needed. Your implant surgeon will discuss which option is the most suitable for you in your initial implant consultation.
Lower dentures usually require only two dental implants but the bone in the upper jaw isn’t as strong, which means that upper dentures usually require at least four adjacent teeth implants.
